Professor O'Toole's research primarily focuses on how teams and organizations can quickly coordinate collective actions by leveraging knowledge-based resources. He also studies the importance of understanding how race influences organizational theory and behavior, with an emphasis on the impact of history and social embeddedness in organizational structures, decisions, and outcomes.
