¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s Center for Educational Innovation and Opportunity is the hub of ¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s lab school network, manages partnerships with other Virginia lab schools, coordinates research and best practices across Virginia, and provide expert guidance to lab school leaders. The Center fosters a culture of innovation in K-12 and higher education, and develops scalable strategies for educational programs statewide.
The Aerospace Academy of the Eastern Shore (AAES) is dedicated to empowering students by providing them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to thrive in aerospace and related industries.
SmithTech is a College Partnership Laboratory School between Chesapeake Public Schools and ¹ú²úÂ×Àí. SmithTech focuses on the integration of Computer Science standards into core content classes and enhanced electives to provide hands-on, innovative learning opportunities for students in this rapidly growing field. SmithTech is hosted at Oscar Smith Middle School in Chesapeake, VA and hosts grades 6th through 8th.
Our mission is to inspire students as future leaders in maritime engineering and environmental sciences; provide a dynamic teaching laboratory for educators through innovative education, hands-on experiences; and collaborate around research to build and share knowledge of transformative practices.
As Virginia’s only K–5 College Partnership Lab School, ¹ú²úÂ×Àí serves as the lead institution of higher education, operating in partnership with Suffolk Public Schools. Together, we function as a testbed for innovation, integrating new technologies, research-based methods, and the combined expertise of higher education and district leadership to shape next practices in K–5 STEM learning.
