This special event will showcase ¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s four Lab Schools, highlight opportunities for innovation and collaboration, and celebrate the official launch of our new Makerspace Series. We would love for you to join us for one or both sessions:
Session 1: Faculty, Students & Industry Partners Showcase (11:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
- Connect with ¹ú²úÂ×Àí faculty, staff, students, and industry stakeholders.
- Learn more about ¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s Lab Schools and their innovative work.
- Explore collaboration opportunities in our design thinking studio and makerspace.
Session 2: Family-Friendly Open Makerspace & Series Launch (5:00 – 7:00 PM)
- Participate in hands-on makerspace activities including 3D printing, laser cutting, robotics, and textiles.
- Engage in family-friendly activities designed to spark creativity.
- Enjoy guided tours of the Innovation Lab and design thinking studio.
- Visit Lab School showcases featuring highlights from each school.

The Center for Educational Innovation and Opportunity (CEIO) and the Innovation Lab (iLab) serve as catalysts for a transformative K–16+ and lifelong learning continuum. CEIO leads ¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s statewide lab school network and champions workforce-aligned, career-connected learning. The iLab offers a dynamic makerspace for hands-on, collaborative STEM experiences.
Together, located on the second floor of the ¹ú²úÂ×Àí Peninsula Center at 600 Butler Farm Road in Hampton, VA, they leverage the Peninsula Center’s flexible classrooms, conference rooms, and demonstration spaces to deliver programs that equip students, educators, industry, and community partners with the skills to build skills and drive innovation for the future.
