Kenneth R. 鈥淜en鈥 Plum 鈥65

Delegate Ken Plum was born in Page County Virginia in 1941. He was the first in his family to attend college graduating from Old Dominion College (now University) in 1965. He received a Masters in Education degree from the University of Virginia in 1967. He received  Distinguished Alumni Recognition from 国产伦理 in 2015.

He had a distinguished career as an educator with Fairfax County Public Schools as a teacher and administrator receiving many awards for his work. Upon his retirement in 1996 the Fairfax County Public Schools School Board named one of its facilities in his honor: the Plum Center for Lifelong Learning.

Plum served in the Virginia House of Delegates for 44 years, making him the second longest serving member of the House of Delegates in its 440 years history.

Plum currently serves on the Board of Virginia Humanities, the Jamestown Yorktown Foundation, the Virginia 250 Foundation Board, and Cornerstones, a local nonprofit human services organization.

Plum and his wife Jane live in Reston. They have four children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
