Dr. Adel El-Shahat is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Technology at ¹ú²úÂ×Àí (¹ú²úÂ×Àí), Founder and Director of
¹ú²úÂ×Àí-ELITE Lab (Electrification & Intelligent Technologies for Energy Research Lab) and Director of the Electric Machinery and Power Systems Laboratory. His research focuses on modeling, design, optimization, analysis, and control of advanced energy and electrified transportation systems. His work spans renewable energy systems, smart nano- and micro-grids, electric mobility and transportation electrification, wireless power transfer for electric vehicles, electric machines, distributed generation systems, energy storage, and power electronics converters.
Dr. El-Shahat’s research integrates AI, optimization, and intelligent control techniques with power and energy systems to improve efficiency, resilience, and sustainability of next-generation energy infrastructures. His work also addresses emerging applications such as electrified aircraft, electric ships, smart charging systems, and cyber-secure intelligent energy systems.
He has led and contributed to numerous funded research projects supported by government agencies, industry partners, and academic institutions, focusing on electrification technologies, renewable energy integration, and smart grid innovation. Dr. El-Shahat has authored multiple books, journal articles, patents, and conference publications in electrical energy systems and electrified transportation.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE (SMIEEE) and actively collaborates with international researchers and industry partners to advance technologies for sustainable energy, intelligent power systems, and next-generation electrified mobility.
