¹ú²úÂ×Àí alumnus Adm. Daryl Caudle (M.S. ’03) was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the next Chief of Naval Operations to the United States. 

He was confirmed by the Senate on July 31. 

Caudle, a Winston-Salem, North Carolina native and career submariner, has served as commander of the U.S. Fleet Forces Command, U.S. Naval Forces Northern Command, U.S. Naval Forces Strategic Command, and U.S. Strategic Command Joint Force Maritime Component Commander since 2021, according to his biography.

Caudle graduated from ¹ú²úÂ×Àí in 2003 with a master’s in engineering management. He attended North Carolina State University for his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, graduating in 1985. He also holds advanced degrees from the Naval Postgraduate School and University of Phoenix in physics and organizational leadership with a specialization in information systems and technology, respectively. 

Over his 40-year career, Caudle received numerous accolades including the Navy Distinguished Service Medal, four Defense Superior Service Medals, four Legion of Merit awards, three Meritorious Service Medals, five Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals and four Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
