Nature-based solutions (NbS) are increasingly being implemented to mitigate coastal flooding, erosion, and storm impacts. This proposed study aims to utilise an integrated, event-based monitoring framework to directly observe and quantify NbS responses across a continuum, from baseline conditions to extreme forcing events within the Chesapeake Bay.

The undergraduate researcher on this project will gain hands-on experience with coastal monitoring instrumentation, drone-based mapping, and field data collection. This research may also serve as a foundation for subsequent graduate work, subject to available funding.

Prior knowledge of coastal processes and experience with field data collection are advantageous.
