About this Program
¹ú²úÂ×Àí offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre and dance with a major in prek-12 dance education that engages students in a dynamic and transformative process of dance training, fostering curiosity, imagination, versatility and innovation. Through interdisciplinary learning, scholarly research and engagement with local and global communities, students experience dance on many levels helping them to think critically and live creatively as dance artists.

Requirements

To become a Dance major you must audition. Auditions include a ballet class*, a modern class, hip-hop class and a tour of the facilities. Please register for an audition slot and submit your to the Dance Program.
IN-PERSON AUDITIONS
In-person auditions will take place on February 15, 2025 from 9AM-12PM. All applicants who attend the in-person audition will be considered for a scholarship. For more information, please contact us at the DanceProgram@odu.edu.
ONLINE AUDITIONS
To be considered for a scholarship, online auditions must be submitted by March 3, 2025. After that, we accept online submissions on a rolling basis.

Teach courses in drama, music, and the arts including fine and applied art, such as painting and sculpture, or design and crafts. Includes both teachers primarily engaged in teaching and those who do a combination of teaching and research.

Cost
Tuition is charged per credit hour. Amounts shown are tuition only and do not include mandatory fees, technology-delivered course fees, course-specific fees, books, housing, meal plans, or other costs. Campus-based students may take technology-delivered or online courses. Tuition is based on student classification.
